Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) has introduced bipartisan legislation in an effort to stop the troubling practice of “ballot harvesting” gimp 2.6 11 kostenlos deutsch.

Ballot harvesting happens when a voter gives their ballot to a third party for the intended purpose of having that third party turn in their ballot for them windows 10 recovery.

With COVID causing election officials to issue mail ballots to everyone this year, the long-held concerns about this practice and how ripe it is for fraud, led to the introduction of this important bipartisan legislation windows 10 downloaden auf stick.

Under current ballot harvesting laws in state’s like California, a person can collect and submit an unlimited supply of ballots and those ballots must be counted and not put under any extra scrutiny than a normal ballot how can I free videos from youtube.

Further, the person collecting the ballots does not have to sign any forms or affidavits certifying that these are legitimate votes or that they were collected legitimately.   The one restriction is that campaigns are not allowed to pay people per ballot they collect but they can pay people to collect them and pay them a bonus for reaching a certain amount that they can get their hands on.

Obviously, this presents a cause for concern from everything from double voting, voter coercion, or the practice of collecting ballots from an opposing political party’s voters then throwing those ballots away.

All of the aforementioned acts would be considered voter fraud however with zero restrictions on who is collecting the ballots and no possible way to track until it is too late, election officials are powerless to stop the practice.

In the last election cycle in Orange County, California, the registrar of voters publicly admitted: “People were carrying in stacks of 100 and 200 of them. We had had multiple people calling to ask if these people were allowed to do this,”.

Proponents of ballot harvesting claim that the practice encourages participation in elections, but at what cost?

With universal mail in ballots arriving at voter’s houses you can be sure people will begin knocking on your door asking for your ballot.  The postage is already paid for and all one would need to do is put their sealed ballot in their mail box.  Which begs the question, why would you ever trust someone with something so important?
